5/13/2010 - La Grange Feeding Project Update (See 1st Email)
Hello Everyone!
Mission Accomplished! Yesterday we delivered food to all 410 families in La Grange. What a fantastic day! Follow up will continue.
As you may recall we took a giant faith leap and purchased $12,000 USD worth of food for each family. You were given an opportunity to participate in this urgent need. The food was delivered and we are just $700 USD shy of paying all bills. These funds and delivery of food happened in just 36 hours of making the decision to go for it!
God is so awesome and all of you praying and giving were awesomely used by God!
Our next step is to consider getting these people out of the mud and dirt and into some proper homes! We hope to build 205 Duplex Homes for the people of La Grange thus bring radical transformation!
Yet this will be just a physical transformation God is after their hearts! We will be challenging them that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life! We will challenge with questions; “Has the witchdoctor ever given you food, a home or hope? Why not turn to Jesus and live His way.”
Watch for future updates as they develop. I understand we may have already received a pledge of ten duplex’s, Homes for 20 families! WOW!
Meanwhile I am in London readying to speak to a group of influential men and women about what God is doing in Haiti. Please pray for me as I speak tomorrow, Friday 6am East Coast Time or 12pm London.

Thank you! We are just $700 a way from having this debt covered. Would God use you to finish this task by helping with a financial gift?

Dear Partners,
People are hungry, no they are starving! In La Grange, the average family has lost one to two of their children due to starvation or illness from seasons pasts. The people have lost a major amount of weight, you see it in their face and bony structure. Sickness is hitting them hard this year and market prices from last harvest have not been able to sustain them with food. There is still another month before their current harvest can be ready for the market. Yet, for many, their health and strength is making it difficult even to work and bring the current harvest in.
Children are the ones that suffer the most as the parents must eat or they will not have the energy to work and produce for the family. Could you imagine being these parents that have to look at their children as they cry with hunger, knowing they had already lost at least one child but know that if they give their little bit of food they will all die!
I have been battling with what to do about this urgent need. Already, I am short in funds to help with food for the 260 families within our camps here in St. Marc. This morning I have decided I can’t sit and let these people go hungry anymore. I am making a faith step and headed to the store today to purchase food for the 410 families of La Grange. I am going to buy each family;
25lbs of rice
12lbs of beans
10ibs of corn meal
1 gal. cooking oil
The bill for purchasing and delivery will be $12,000 USD, $30 per family. I pray that this will make it possible for them to make it through this lean season. I must act in good conscience even though I do not have it. I have just phoned a local food wholesaler. They are willing to provide the food on credit until I can pay.
If you would like to help I invite you to join me by replying to this email. What can you do in faith to meet this desperate need? If you would like give a contribution you may make your gift payable to YWAM Haiti and mail it to;

I couldn’t wait any longer because they can not wait. Let’s show the compassion of Jesus NOW!
